The Bali Geckos, formed in 1997, are the islands Australian Rules Football team and have been active in developing and introducing the game to local Indonesians, traveling foreigners and more recently have set up a junior academy to coach children the great game of AFL.

Training is held on Thursdays at the Geckos Club, housed within the resplendent confines of The Canggu Club. Juniors run from 5 and the Seniors take the field at 6.

The Geckos host 2 major events every year at their home ground, The Masters in June and the Bali 9’s in October.

The Geckos always enter the Asian Championships and have been runners-up 3 times to Asian powerhouses, Singapore and Hong Kong, but were joint winners in 2000 and 2002 when joining with Jakarta to form an Indonesian side.
