The Singapore Wombats, who had been well established
for a number of years, traveled to Bali as favorites in their
first hit-out against the geckos. The Geckos game plan ran
accordingly, with Bretty Enright’s pre-game role in
taking the Wombat’s out to the Sari Club and then on
to 66 until the early hours of the morning being fulfilled
accordingly. This was perhaps a vital factor in the Geckos
first ever win. Geckos’ tall-timber Mike Burbidge dominated
in the ruck in front of his parents who made the trip to Bali
especially for the occasion.
