The Geckos were confident going into the match and were looking to win three games in a row. The Bintangs started well, with Spearsy putting the first goal on the board, but he was crunched for his efforts and his only memory of the moment is someone saying "Get up you f*@#%& girl !" Two days later, he entered hospital with delayed concussion.

The Geckos steadied in the later part of the quarter and lead by 8 points at the first break. The second quarter was a close affair, with both teams having their fair share of the ball and the scoreboard favouring the Bintangs by one point. The Bintangs were full of running in the third quarter, giving them a handy 11 point lead at thefinal break. The Geckos came out strong in the last quarter and gained the lead at around the 10 minute mark, but the Bintangs answered with a few quick goals, eventually running away as winners by 17 points.

Return of the Paddywhack
You can take the boy out of Pascoe Vale, but you can’t take Pascoe Vale out of the boy. Frustration led to Paddy letting one go, throwing his back out in the process in what some would consider an Academy award winning performance.
